Quest Atlantis is more than just an online technology: it is a game designed to provide teachers with relevant contexts to support students understanding and application of academic concepts. We support teachers with a teacher manual, with professional development training, with novels and comics for their students, with continual monitoring of chat, with time-relevant blog entries, and with technology support and help in connecting students with other classrooms worldwide. With several years of development, implementation, and research behind
us, the Quest Atlantis Project is excited to offer the QA experience to a
broader audience. To meet the growing demand, we have developed two different
options for interested parties. Consider the options below and select
the route that best fits your needs.
- Get a Guest Account! (GO)
I’m interested in exploring Quest Atlantis. I might be interested
in implementing QA in my school or classroom, but I need to know more.—or—
I’m trying to learn more about education and technology. I’d like
to see what QA is all about, but I do not expect to use QA in a school
setting.
With a QA Guest Account and loaded software (Windows only), you can explore the virtual worlds of the
OTAK and try out some of our introductory missions and Quests. For
security reasons, you will not be able to interact with other QA participants,
but you will get a better sense of the QA experience.
- Teacher/Facilitator Info & Forms (GO)
I’m a teacher, school administrator, technical coordinator, or other professional who is very interested in using Quest Atlantis and would like to find out
about opportunities in my area.
—or—
I’m a teacher or other professional
who has been invited to become part of the QA Community, and I need to sign up.
We are currently supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, NASA, and Food Lion. As such, teachers supported through these grants are helping to collect research data and therefore have access at a highly subsidized rate. Based on grant and sponsorship emphasis, we may prioritize certain districts, states, and countries for trainings and support.
The Quest Atlantis Project is dedicated to offering opportunities to teachers
and facilitators who are interested in starting new QA Centers. If you’ve reviewed
the information available on this website (especially our Technical Specifications)
and are interested in learning more, please click “Go” above or send an email to atlantis@indiana.edu.
